OMG!  I just had one of the best workshop experiences ever!

I found Andrea's blog, blog hopping and I subscribed to her feed because I really admired her photography.  Not long after I subscribed, she offered a TTV class in the Mission District in SF, in association with a show highlighting her photography.

I think I've mentioned TTV (Through the Viewfinder) photography before, you use a camera (dslr, point and shoot, or film camera) to shoot through a vintage camera (like a Kodak Duaflex), using a contraption to block out light.  With his method, you get very cool vintagy, scratchy, speckly square photos.  AWESOME!!! 

I promptly signed up.   And it was sooo worth the cost!!!  I loved the easy, laid back presentation.  I loved not being overwhelmed with techno-speak.  I also loved being in the presence of so many artists, in an art  studio, good energy.

Andrea went over the "history" of TTV photography, showed us many cool vintage cameras, shooting technique, and then let us loose with supplies to make a light blocking device, "the contraption".  Upon completion of our boxes, we took photos.  Some people even braved the driving rain and went outside to take pixs.  Afterwards, Andrea discussed post-processing of the photos.  Oh and there were cupcakes donated by Sibby's Cupcakery!!!  (Baby cupcakes, sooooo cute!!!) Photography and cupcakes?!  Could the day have been any better?!

I so enjoyed myself!

And after an hour in the freaky MRI machine, they didn't get any good images of my foot.

Apparently I moved. (And who wouldn't if they were told to stay utterly still for an hour?!)

Weird how life is about choices...Had I made the choice to wake early this morning and go to cycle class, I probably wouldn't have thrown out my back just bending over and picking up deck furniture.  I'm thinking the cold weather contributed, but... Now, I can't do anything without experiencing a sharp pain, except be upright.  I asked myself the same question that's on your mind, "What does this mean for DWM"

Strange twist of fate, yeah?  Luckily, (the hot) Dr. Steve can get me in tomorrow for some A.R.T., phew!!!  In the meantime, its ice and motrin.  Can I get a massage and a glass of wine too? Anyone, anyone???  : .)

And Target sucks.  Never mind what happened there today.  I wish I could find another discount store I liked as well.

Moving on... Last night, I watched two cool shows called "The World of Harry Potter."  They were a "historical" perspective of the movies, with interviews with the producers, directors, and the actors.  Daniel Radcliff, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint were sooo cute when they first started filming the movies.

I also hit the flea market  yesterday, scored some neat antique postcard sets for a buck, a picture frame, and some free sequin waste to use as a stencil.  Coolness!  I had a great 7 mile run, which made me think I would go ahead and make reservations for DisneyWorld.  Until today, sigh.

Off to make some tacos!  Paranormal State season premiere is tonight too!

Yes, I am still making ATCs instead of working on my "other" projects.  (Hi Pens!) ATCs are just so easy.  The Simply ArTistiC blog is still pounding away on the Alice in Wonderland theme (and frankly, I am so done with that!)  This week's prompt was based on the part of the Disney animated AIW movie "All in the Golden Afternoon."  Here's my take on it...

Who knew that halloween-y gothic gateway rubber stamp would come in handy in this manner!!!  Finally a reason for the collection! ha!  I got to use up some of my paper flower collection and some seed beads, too.

Card #4 was Gothic Queen.  Again, I used one of my favorite stamps...I re-stamped the bow on her head 2 more times to make the crown.  White pencil, a heart charm, and glitter gel accent the piece nicely, doncha think???

I also worked on a trade with the multi-talented, Elle Bee, who made me an amigurumi reaper (just in time for halloween!)  I've named him Rube, after the lead reaper on the Dead Like Me tv series.

Last Sunday I did a little photo shoot with my friend Jenni-Jenni & her family.  Obviously, they're getting ready for a new bebe!  I gave my camera to their darling boy (whom I photographed a few years ago) and he was quite the good little picture taker.

In other news, my recently acquired podiatrist is sending me for an MRI on my foot, since it doesn't seem to be getting better.  (Even after Dr. Steve's treated it, even after using the homeopathic anti-inflam cream.)  Dr. Doug (still) doesn't think my foot is broken as it isn't swollen, and I can still work out on it, but we'll know definitively after next Wednesday.  I'm thinking of bailing on my January marathon.  I'm tired of trying to train through pain.

Oh geez!  Its already after 11 pm.  I gotta get to bed so I can be ready for my weekend!!!  The high school flea market is this Saturday!  LOL!!!  Oh, and I have a run scheduled and more art!
