I found out this morning that yesterday one of my friends was killed in a freak accident.
He was trying to start his Piper aircraft and was hit in the head with the propeller.
I babysat he and his brother when they were little.
My family lived next door to his for 30 years.
My heart is breaking for his mother, who is the kindest person,
his brother, and his wife and kids.

I'm having a hard time grasping that you can be taking a breath one moment,
and in the next you can be gone.
I am so sad.
